Biofuel as cause of a food crisis Print E-mail
Many people have
heard biofuel as cause of a food crisis a plethora of different times.
The Government is choosing to deny any and all accusations that
biofuels are responsible for the rising prices on food. But, when you
investigate the numbers everything points to the fuel and its
reproduction being the cause for rising food prices as well as causing
the food that we need to diminish immensely. In order to understand how
this fuel could be linked to a major crisis in the food that we eat,
you need to have an understanding of how biofuels are manufactured in
the first place. Biofuel as a cause of food crisis is a strong term to
tell people around the world, yet since 2008 people have been
gallivanting that these fuels are going to be the cause of our
extinction so to speak. Biofuels are made from dead organisms, most of
the organisms being from the plant family. The fuels are taken to a
special plant where they can be burnt and then utilized as a form of
energy or as a certain type of ethanol. The gas that is released from
the burning of the crops is carbon dioxide which we need in order to
survive anyways.
You may be questioning where the problem in producing these fuels can
have to do with our food, since most of the time the crops that are
burnt are already in the deterioration process. Well what is happening
is the Government has come in and said that we need to have more places
where we can solely grow crops that will later be burnt and utilized to
make this biofuel form of energy or to produce ethanol gas. Allocating
a certain sector of a field or various places around the world in order
to keep creating the biofuels is a relatively good idea. The problem is
the Government is getting a little bit out of hand with their
designated biofuel fields. It seems as though these fields are taking
over places where we grow most of our crops for human consumption. Many
farmers are actively selling their land to the Government so they can
do as they wish with the fields. It's great for the farmers but
horrible for society. Food is being to deplete at alarming numbers
simply because our growing power has diminished immensely.
Everyone has a wise idea about free enterprise. Free enterprise states
that when something is depleting in mast quantities the demand for
these necessities rises. When demand rises the Government as well as
state officials will begin raising the price to get the same amount of
money they would have gotten off of the product had the crops not been
turned into biofuel factories. Many countries are feeling the strain
from this lack of food, and are actively putting the blame on biofuels
as a cause of the overall food crisis.
