immense interest in biofuels has sparked a new interest in algae
biofuel. You will often times hear this term referred to as oilgae or
something else of that nature. With high oil prices and the persistent
demands to have enough room to grow crops instead of worrying about
biofuels scientists are looking more into utilizing algae to make the
fuels. Algae are relatively found in sources of water and people always
inadvertently see them as a nuisance. The best way to get rid of
something that may seem bothersome to many is to try to utilize it for
a purpose. Algae are tiny organisms that utilize photosynthesis in a
means to transform carbon dioxide and natural sunlight into energy.
Algae have a tendency to double their weight several times throughout
the day. Therefore this increases the overall amount of this organism
that can be utilized. Alga culture farmers are people who actually farm
the algae that will be utilized for biofuels. The algae does not affect
any fresh water sources and can be produced utilizing ocean as well as
waste water material. The algae is completely biodegradable and will
not effect the environment if it were to spill.
